The value of Poker Position

Texas Hold’em is all about people and position. All experienced Texas Hold’em enthusiasts concur that seating in no cap Holdem is critically important. Playing your hole cards in late spot might be a whole lot more profitable than in starting poker position. This is because a whole lot more data is gathered before acting.

e.g., I played in a $1-$2 no limit money match at a local casino. I bumbled in holding 2, 9 unsuited on the dealer button, so I could partake in a little action. Flop arrived A-A-4. A gambler in early position made a $15 wager. 2 individuals drop out and it was my turn. I really should have dropped out, but something appear to be a bit odd. I read this person as a weak-tight person, and typically if he held the number one hand he would simply check, so I called.

The turn came down with a 7, making it A-A-4-7. My challenger laid another wager of $20. I hesitated a little bit, but took a chance to re-raise a further $30thirty dollars on top of his twenty dollars. He dropped out and I won the chips.

Playing late spot offers you an idea where you are positioned by seeing how other entrants behave and wager. On the flip side, enthusiasts at early position could use their poker spot to check-raise the late seated competitors and corner them later at the end. In Hold’em, each spots, late and starting should be played cautiously.
