The Importance of Poker Seating

Hold’em is all about gamblers and arrangement. All experienced Texas Holdem players concur that seating in no cap Hold’em is critically important. Showing your hole cards in last spot may be much more beneficial than in starting poker position. This is seeing that much more information is collected right before acting.

As an example, I was playing a $1-$2 no limit cash match at a local casino. I bumbled in with 2, 9 unsuited on the dealer button, just to partake in some fun. Flop came down A-A-4. A gambler in starting position laid a $15 wager. Two entrants fold and it was my turn to act. I should have folded, but something felt a little odd. I read this individual as a weak-tight bettor, and normally if he held the strongest hand he would only check, so I called.

The turn showed with a 7, meaning it was a A-A-4-7. My opponent made another wager of $20. I deliberated a bit, but decided to re-raise a further $30thirty dollars over and above his $20. He dropped out and I take the cash.

Playing late position allows you an idea where you are positioned by seeing how players carry oneself and wager. On the other hand, gamblers at starting position could use their poker spot to check-raise the late seated aggressors and corner them later at the end. In Holdem, both spots, last and starting must be bet cautiously.
