Phil Ivey has been labeled as the best poker competitor on the globe by quite a few of the top-ranked pros. Phil was born in Riverside, CA and relocated to Jersey before his first birthday. His papa taught him penny-ante Five-Card Stud poker. From that point on, he was hooked on poker and wanted to pickup anything he possibly could about the game. Phil routinely told his elders that he wanted to be a professional poker player. Phil didn’t allow the negative comments from others annihilate his ambition of being one of the best poker competitors in the world.

Phil started playing intently after getting a fake ID by the name of Jerome. He honed his skills at the casinos of Atlantic City. The initial few years for him were a teaching opportunity and coming away with a win was not a common thing at the time. He became known at the 2000 World Series of Poker where he achieved two final tables and won his 1st World Series of Poker bracelet, in a $2, five hundred Pot-Limit Omaha match. At the final table he destroyed a number of the well known pros which includes "Amarillo Slim" Preston, David "Devilfish" Ulliot, and Phil Hellmuth, Jr.

Phil decided to take his skills to the successive level and moved out west to Vegas. He continues to compete in in "The Big Game" at the Bellagio with the greatest players in the world. Phil credits his success to dedication and an eternal love for poker. Phil states that he’s learning every day and is quite humble about his accomplishments. Phil admits to making errors in each session of poker and constantly aspires to get better.

Although Phil has won some large tournaments, he prefers winning money games on a normal basis.
